The“Junior Basketball Championship Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area 2018”, held by the Sports Bureau and co-organized by the Maca-China Basketball Association, took place at Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavilion on the 13^th and 14^th of October. The home team, the Macao Junior Basketball Team, competed against 11 teams in total coming from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing and Hong Kong. After two days of intense competition, Macao team lost with the score of 37:42 to Guangzhou in the Grand Final and became the first runner-up.

All participants qualified to participate in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Basketball Championship must have been born after 1^st of January, 2000. They were divided into four groups in the preliminary matches. The Macao team, having the advantage of being the home team, performed excellently and won with the score of 45:35 over the Huizhou team in the preliminary match. In the match amongst the best eight teams, the Macao team also decisively defeated the Zhuhai team with the score of 45:27. In the semi-final, they also eliminated the Dongguan team with the score of 45:33 and proceeded to the Grand Final. 

In the afternoon of the 14^th, the Macao team played against the Guangzhou team in the Grand Final. In the first quarter, the Macao team led with 6:5, and then lagged 10:11 behind. Upon the end of the third quarter, the Guangzhou team led with the score of 22:20 when Peng Senao shot a buzzer beater under the basket. During the last quarter, the Macao team demonstrated their perseverance and managed to catch up until they achieved the score of 37:38 almost to the end of the match. However,  during the remaining time, the players of the Macao team made consecutive mistakes and lost with 37:42 to Guangzhou, resulting in them in second place. In the match for the third place, on the same day, the Hong Kong team won with 66:46 over the Dongguan team and won third place.
