Che Pui Ngai, aged 18, is a member of the Macao Badminton Teamand specializes in men's doubles. He has participated in various international events such as the Indonesian Asian Games in 2018 on behalf of Macao.
When Che Pui Ngai was a Primary 5 student, he started playing badminton in a summer course, He became fond of this sport. Subsequently, he moved on from joining summer course to joining the Macau Badminton Association, he subsequently became part of the Macao team. After a long time of training, Che Pui Ngai found out that he likes the doubles competition, which requires collaboration and speed. Therefore, he is mainly engaged in the development of tennis doubles.
Che Pui Ngai has been part of the Macao team for six years and has substantial experience. He has competed in advanced level competitions such as the BWF World Junior Championships, Badminton Asia Junior Championships and Badminton Asia Championships on behalf of Macao. He has also broken into the final of Group 3 in the World Mixed Team Badminton Championships - Sudirman Cup.
In 2018, he participated in Indonesian Asian Games representing Macao. After winning over a Maldivian team in the first match of the mixed event, he was promoted to compete against players of the best 16. Then, he encountered Chinese mixed team Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping, who were silver medalists in the Badminton Asian Championships. Regrettably, he lost 0:2. However, he was also satisfied with his performance. Competing with top players allowed him to be aware of his weaknesses when compared to stronger players.
Having competed at the Asian Games, Che Pui Ngai now trains six times a week persistently, aiming to enhance his own physical fitness, especially in terms of power and endurance. The objective he wants to achieve in the coming year is to win a championship title in the men's doubles partnering with Leong Iok Chong in the Macau Badminton Open, so as to fulfill his dream for many years.
