Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China held the 2018 / 2019 BOC Scholarship for Outstanding Athletes Awarding Ceremony”at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre on September 17. This year, a hundred and three athletes engaging in 12 different sports events were awarded scholarships, amounting to 888,600 Macao Patacas.
This year marked the 6th year of the scholarship programme. To encourage the athletes to make effort and have outstanding results, from May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019, the best three athletes from various large-scaled multisport events, large-scaled high level sports events and other international events would be awarded scholarships.
Ma Iao Hang, President of the Sports and Olympic Committee, and Director of the Executive Board Lo Keng Chio presented speeches in the ceremony, expressing gratitude to the Macao Branch of the Bank of China, the Macao SAR Government, various sports associations in society and athletes for their support to the work of the Committee.
