Lei Ka Chon : In Love with Jogging
The seventeen year-old distance runner Lei Ka Chon holds the record for the Inter-school Athletics Competition and the All-Macao Student Mountain Run, and is aiming to break Macao's 1,500 meter record.
Lei Ka Chon's athletic career is far from a smooth journey. He started running in the fourth grade, but failed to earn a spot on the school's sprinting team due to limited quota, as he had hoped. He then joined the distance running team on the recommendation of Chan Chan Kit, who later became his coach. Unfortunately, Lei had to leave the team after just one year, as he failed to fit in. His athletic career finally started in the sixth grade when Chan became the school's team coach and invited Lei to join the distance running team once more. Since then, he hasn't stopped running.
Lei started to find joy in distance running when he was at junior high school. He enjoys the comfortable pace of jogging that allows him to appreciate the view along the way. He likes the feeling of relaxation that comes after intensive training. Most importantly, he gets to know a group of nice teammates who make the training enjoyable.
Currently, Lei mainly runs at Macao's inter-school events including the All-Macao Mountain Run, cross country runs and interschool athletics competitions. His next target is to break Macao's 1,500 meter record.
