The Sports Committee held its second meeting of the year in the conference room of the Macao Olympic Complex Multi-storey Car Park on 1st July. The meeting was presided over by Cheong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture and President of the Sports Council.
The meeting discussed the validation of legal sports entities and opinions relating to the Public Sports Facilities Network, ‘Sport Easy’ programme, summer activities, ‘Sport for All’ programme, and the 4th Sports Management Training Course in addition to reporting on the monitoring of Macao residents’ physical fitness. The meeting was also updated on relevant sports infrastructure, including the reconstruction of Mong Ha Pavilion and the plan for the construction of a multi-functional training centre. The preparatory works and summary of relevant works related to large-scale integrated sports events in which Macao participated in - including the 4th All-China Games held in Hefei in Anhui Province in May, the 16th Guangzhou Asian Games in November and the 10th Guangzhou Asian Para Games in December - were also presented.
